The American Center in Moscow invites you to join this online talk about the state of California on May 22 at 6 pm.
Stretching more than 4,800 kilometers from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean, the United States of America is comprised of 50 states, each with its own traditions, history, and values. The American Center invites everyone interested in learning about the USA to discover America state by state in this series of talks by American guest-speakers.
Each talk will cover one of the 50 states, exploring state facts and introducing to the audience the rich and diverse landscapes, cultures, history, landmarks, events, and people that make each state unique. Each talk is presented by an American guest-speaker born and/or raised in this state.
The online talk on May 22 will introduce California, a U.S. state nicknamed "The Golden State". Hao Jiang, American Center’s intern, will talk about his home state’s history, geography, famous landmarks/cities, population demographics, culture, sports, and share some fun facts about this U.S. state.
